The news Zynga was planning to roll-out two-way SMS support for the Facebook version of Mafia Wars was met with predictions that other titles in the developer's line-up would soon follow.
It would appear such talk was on the money, with speculation suggesting Facebook hit Farmville is the next title in line to benefit from SMS play.
Joystiq reports Tumblr blog Supererogatory has recently spotted the registration of the domain Farmvillesms.com by Zynga; the name making the developer's intentions fairly clear.
Fields of opportunity
However, with Farmvilleandroid.com, Farmvilleipad.com and Farmvilleiphone.com also joining the ranks, it seem likely the title is set to hit formats aplenty within the near future, with Zynga making a concerted effort to push the franchise from Facebook to mobile.
The studio itself is yet to confirm the chatter, Zynga simply telling Joystiq that it has "plans to expand to various mobile platforms", but adding it "cannot provide additional information at this time".
If Farmville, which already boasts more than 81 million monthly active users on Facebook, follows the SMS model Zynga has publicly laid out for Mafia Wars, then players should be able to perform a number of actions direct from their mobile by simply sending specific codes via text message.
