Stair Dismount Lite hits 450,000 downloads via Free Game of the Day
The power of free app discovery sites continues to grow and, as such, the number of successes attributed to the promotion they provide is also in the ascent.

FreeGameOfTheDay.com – launched by Aurora Feint in March and naturally backed by its 17 million strong OpenFeint platform – has claimed another win, with Secret Exit's Stair Dismount benefiting from the recent promotion of the Lite version.
Stair Dismount Lite was first featured on the site on March 4th, with daily downloads jumping from 5,000 to over 32,000 as a result. The week following its promotion, downloads continued to rise, hitting a peak of 40,000 a day.

Download derby

"The rush of downloads we received from being featured on the site was incredible," said Secret Exit's head Jani Kahrama.

"The visibility boost pushed Stair Dismount Lite up the Free App charts, helping it reach a critical mass of users for a viral factor to emerge to enable further promotion by word of mouth."

In total, the game was downloaded 450,000 times in two weeks, with 15 percent going on to pay for the full version.

"Using Free Game Of The Day puts a game in front of 17 million connected players," added Aurora Feint CEO Jason Citron.

"When you're getting that kind of visibility, a spike in users is inevitable. We're really happy about Stair Dismount Lite’s success with the site and plan on seeing more stories like this in the future."
