Service now open to developers

Multi-screen native gaming platform Antix goes live
Ambitious multi-screen gaming company Antix has announced via Twitter that's its GDK 1.0 has gone live and is now available for all registered developers.

Antix Game Player is an on-device software client that allows consumers to play games across multiple licensed platforms.

Games are distributed in a device-independent format that lets users play and share their games across any Antix-powered formats – from mobiles, TV and set-top boxes to handhelds and PC.

Antix claims its system allows consumers to distribute trial games virally across networks and off-line to their friends and family without encroaching on developer or operator rights and revenues.

D-Day for the GDK

Its claims will soon come to fruition according to this news, both the GDK and the related game certification process now open.

Back in February, the company also announced it would launch a publisher showcase and distribution hub – called Game Warehouse – to support the Antix player.

"Antix's channel partners provide publishers and developers with access to untapped routes to market and revenue," chief executive Francis Charig said at the time.

"Using the Antix Warehouse to provision content removes some of the resource and maintenance constraints traditionally faced by developers and publishers when bringing new contents to market."
