Revitalised by its purchase by Japanese outfit Aplix, US mobile controller company Zeemote is rolling out its expansion program.
One key element is support for Android devices within the Zeemote SDK.
Operating systems 1.6 (Donut) and 2.x (Eclair) are covered, enabling developers to integrate support for the JS1 analog joystick Bluetooth-based controller.
The Zeemote SDK already supports BlackBerry, Nokia, Samsung and LG phones.

As well as its primary purpose of improving game control, the JS1 enables better navigation for apps, and can be used in conjunction with TV-out featured smartphone for a more console experience, as well as in a dual-wield manner with two JS1s.
"By adding the Android SDK to our stable of supported platforms, we are able to give developers an excellent way in which to make their applications really stand out from the crowd," said Jim Adams, business development manager at Zeemote.
Developers can download the SDK from the Zeemote support portal, where they also get access to the modified source code for the kwaak3 (Quake 3) Android port that integrates JS1 control.
Over next few weeks Zeemote will announce a developer program, providing comprehensive support, promotion and routes to market including access to 100 million consumers a year.
New developers can register via the Zeemote website.
