Korea is often seen as a golden land for mobile gaming, thanks to the profitability of its publishers such as Gamevil and Com2uS, who have been expanding fast thanks to iPhone and Android.
It seems that Korean developers are now looking to piggyback on these new international opportunities, with Lemon signing a publishing deal with Com2uS.
The game in question is Fantasia, a massively multiplayer RPG for iPhone, which cost $4.5 million and took four years to develop.
It includes features such as player versus player combat, parties and guilds, plus the usual array of character, maps and items.
Bang for bucks
The commercial agreement covers the English language version of the game with Lemon getting $3 million, including a minimum guarantee.
I am positive that Fantasia will become a killer game content for smartphone with its profound storyline and quality gameplay, said Hyo-Sung Yoon, CEO of Lemon.
Fantasia is expected to kick off with a closed beta in the second half of 2010, going live in early 2011.
