PapayaMobile opens up access to its social mobile platform
Having raised $4 million from DCM in its first funding round, social platform PapayaMobile is now ramping up its support for Android.

It's released a development and an advertising SDK to enable game developers to take advantage of its 3.5 million global user base.

Set up by ex-Google China executives, Papaya hopes to become the social platform of choice for Android developers, proving a one-stop solution to build and distribute their applications and games. It also support iPhone.

Integration and advertising

Using the Papaya Social SDK, developers can cross promote their own applications within the Papaya platform, tapping into features such as news feeds, invitations, notifications, profiles, messaging, chatrooms, leaderboards and a sophisticated avatar system.

Access is also provided to its virtual currency system.

Papaya currently features 12 inhouse developed titles, including its flagship title, Papaya Farm, a social farming game with 2.5 million users.

In addition to platform integration, developers can use the Papaya Offer SDK, which is a pay-per-install advertising system.

"As a former Google product manager, I've always believed the best way to serve users and the market is to create open technologies and platforms, and this has been PapayaMobile's focus," said Si Shen, PapayaMobile's CEO.

"The release of Social SDK and Offer SDK will provide benefit and added growth to the Android ecosystem."
