It's difficult to state conclusively but it's probably fair to say that Fishing Cactus' Starshine is one of the first mobile games to debut on Samsung's bada OS before any other platform. (It will be released for iPhone later in the year.)
Published by Handmark, it's a conversion of Hero Interactive's Flash game of the same name in which you have to fire your one star tangentially into a circle, hopefully creating a chain reaction with the stars located within.
What's more significant however is the speed at which developers and publishers are releasing games for bada, with iPhone publishers such as Bulkypix lining up alongside the likes of Com2uS and Gameloft.
Riding the wave
Indeed, Handmark has been very quick onto Samsung Apps with almost 70 games already available on the store.
It's also just published the bada port of Fishing Cactus' stylish black and white iPhone puzzler Shift, as well as popular versions of games from the likes of Astraware, a company it previously owned.
So despite the current lack of installed devices, game prices which range from £2.50 to £5 should provide better margins those available on the App Store.
