Nokia slashes many game prices on Ovi Store to 1 euro
In what appears to be a similar move to Palm's half price subsidy on its App Catalog, Nokia has launched a price promotion on many of the most popular games on the Ovi Store.

Prices are €1, or local equivalent, and the promotion will run until August 12.

Deeper and down

It doesn't cover all games on the Store however.

Instead on the Ovi Blog, titles such as Doodle Jump, The Sims 3, Fieldrunners, Zuma's Revenge, Planet Riders and Armageddon Squadron are mentioned, alongside the support from publishers such as EA Mobile, Gameloft, PopCap, Polarbit and Fishlabs.

Reading between the lines of the post, it seems the July Games Promotion is a Nokia-lead initiative, with the company likely to be covering publishers' lost revenue in a move to increase download volumes and boost consumer excitement concerning Ovi.

You can see the list of the games in the promotion here.
