The piracy of iPhone games has been a topic that's got some people hot and bothered in recent years, but it seemed to have dropped off the radar in 2010.
The word from French developer Godzilab may step up the situation though.
Despite being an online title using the Plus+ platform, its latest game, StarDunk, which was released in July, seems to be suffering from a high level of cracked versions.
A tweet from the developer stated, "37.5% of Stardunk players are using a cracked version. If anybody has a good way of detecting them, we'll take it."
Server-based security?
Following up, we were told this figure was calculated using the total number of games sold on the App Store, and the total number of unique accounts that the online server had registered.
It's a high proportion of users, especially as the critically acclaimed game has only recently been repriced to $1.99 from the original 99c.
Still, we're sure as a connected title, the folks at Plus+ could come up with some fixes in terms of working out who has legitimate copies. The question then will be harder - what to do with them?
