International App Conference 2010 announced for Dundee

Backed by 48 hour AppJam

International App Conference 2010 announced for Dundee
Dundee is supposed to be the sunniest place in Scotland, but it's probably not the location most people would initially consider for an industry get together in November.

But that's where the first AppCon - or more formally the International App Conference - and its sister event the 48 hour AppJam, is taking place between November 8 - 10.

Weather aside, the event's location does make sense in terms of the wealth of mobile developers nearby, with the likes of Cobra Mobile, Tag Games, Dynamo Games and Digital Goldfish Dundee-based.

AppCon is also part of Dundee's week-long NEoN Digital Arts Festival.

Early bird get the discount

The schedule is still being organised, although it's stated that platform providers, developers and other industry professionals will provide practical knowledge transfer, as well as insight into the future of apps development.

As for the AppJam, it will run parallel to the main conference, giving participants the opportunity to work in small teams to develop original ideas with the aim of releasing the titles developed and exploiting routes to market after the event.

The cost of the main conference will be £125 (+VAT), with an early bird discount rate of £99 prior to October 4. The AppJam will be free.

You can find out more about the events, and sign up for more details at the AppCon website or follow it on Twitter.
