With the likes of location-based, augmented reality and realworld gaming all hot topics in mobile, French outfit Playground Maker is preparing the first public test of its technology.
The open source development platform will be tested in Marseille, France, from 2pm on Saturday, September 18. You can find more details about here.
Most places are now filled but another test is being scheduled for October.
Tracking progress
More generally, the web-based tool is designed to use the increasing ubiquity of GPS information without requiring creators to have programming knowledge.
The initiative, which is backed by the European Regional Development Fund and Region Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, will also spark a festival, which is planned to take place in Marseille in 2011.
You can register at the Playground Maker website for more details as they arise.
