Founded back in 2000, mobile publisher GlobalFun has entered liquidation, according to a report by MobileGamesBlog.
The site claims the firm, which currently has operations in Sweden, Italy, Argentina and the US, has been taken over by an administrator in accordance with Swedish law.
"I have been asked to and accepted to support the administrator to find the best possible solution, given the circumstances, for the stake holders in GlobalFun including but not limited to suppliers, partners, customers and employees," commented former CEO Marcus Johansson.
"For the time being we are continuing our day to day operation."
GlobalFun built up its business before the rise of smartphones and could count on strong relationships with the likes of Warner Bros., publishing official Ben 10 and Tom & Jerry titles, amongst others.
The firm also built up strong ties with Sony Ericsson, having been chosen to front Sony Ericsson's PlayNow Arena back in 2008 and nominated Sony Ericsson's head of special projects Mikael Nerde to join its board of directors the following year.
