Gameloft's released 100 iOS games, sold more than 20 million

Still no million seller announced though

Gameloft's released 100 iOS games, sold more than 20 million
It was back in January 2010 that Gameloft announced it had sold 10 million iPhone and iPod touch games.

Of course, that was since Apple's App Store launched in June 2008, hence over an 18 month period.

The news that it's now sold more than 20 million games - i.e. an additional 10 million games in nine months - on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad suggests a shift of momentum.

This growth in sales has also been matched by Gameloft releasing more titles. It had released 53 games by the end of 2009, and has released 47 titles to date in 2010. Of these, 42 featured in the top 5 on the App Store, while 25 hit the number one position.

Gameloft says it will release a further 15 games before the end of 2010.

Who's the biggest?

Significantly though, Gameloft is still to announced any single title has reached one million paid sales; a notable omission with the likes of Angry Birds now heading towards seven million iOS sales.

Still, that's not to say it doesn't have one million seller (average sales are clearly 200,000), only that it hasn't announced one yet. Equally Gameloft tends not to price its games at 99c, and certainly not for long periods of time.

"The first half of 2010 marks a new step for us on the App Store," declared Michel Guillemot, Gameloft's president

"The launch of the iPad and iPhone 4 has opened new horizons for developers and allowed us once again to transform our consumers gaming experience. 20 million paid downloads is proof that our games meet the expectations of our players and we will continue to satisfy them."
