Sibblingz adds iOS and Android in-app purchases into its trans platform game engine
Social game technology company Sibblingz has dropped in-app purchases into its cross platform engine, enabling developers to add the option to their iOS and Android games. It already supported the feature for webgames using Facebook Credits.

It's also demonstrated how the system works on the respective platforms via sister company CrowdStar's Happy Island Facebook game.

Hence the iOS and Android Happy Island clients have now switched from paid to freemium titles, matching the standard Facebook model with iTunes and Google Checkout integration. All three versions are hooked up socially using Facebook Connect.

Universal wallet

"Taking Happy Island from Facebook to the mobile world as a freemium product is a definitive step in making Sibblingz a complete trans platform social gaming solution," says Ben Savage, Sibblingz's founder.

"Now that the mobile game features premium virtual goods with micro transactions, it will give users a complete social gaming experience: play and spend anytime, anywhere."

"We hope the success of Happy Island's jump to the freemium model on mobile will set an example for other developers and brands interested in taking their game cross-platform," says Peter Relan, executive chairman of Sibblingz, and founder of the YouWeb incubator that also owns CrowdStar.

"Sibblingz is pioneering the way to a world where your social game goes with you from your office to your car to your living room."
