Traditionally a strong market for Microsoft, it appears the Germans really like Windows Phone 7.
Reports suggest O2 has sold out of its initial allocation of HTC HD7, rumoured to be around the 80,000 units mark.
The new platform is also apparently selling well with Vodafone Germany, which reported higher than expected pre-orders of the HTC Mozart and the Samsung Omnia 7.
Nation of 100,000s
Both companies are ordering additional supplies, as is German carrier E-plus which is receiving a very positive response to the LG Optimus 7 it's selling.
According to industry sources, total Windows Phone 7 sales in Germany in 2010 are expected to be in the six figure range.
Perhaps this should be no surprise though.
The most recent country breakdown of the German handset had the old Windows Mobile platform still hanging onto 16 percent of the market, more than Android and RIM combined.
Apple's share was 21.2 percent, compared to 29.6 percent in France and 31.6 percent in the UK.
