Transpera rolls out interactive mobile video ad platform for iOS, Android and BlackBerry

Claims CPMs of up to $20

Transpera rolls out interactive mobile video ad platform for iOS, Android and BlackBerry
With ad-supported games becoming more popular, US mobile video ad network Transpera has announced its new technology platform.

Supporting iOS, Android and BlackBerry, it's built around a simple proposal offering fullscreen interactive video ads, which are designed to offer the highest CPMs and the best performance.

"The video is always available on-device. We use pre-fetching technology so there's no buffering or empty slots, and we ensure we deliver the highest quality resolution video to each device," explains Alex Galvagni, Transpera's president and COO.

Good for games

Previously CTO at Glu Mobile, Galvagni says it's his team's experience as game developers that ensures the platform SDK is simple to integrate (three API calls), while the design of the user interface and the interactive buttons embedded in the video ad units are well designed.

"Our approach has a real consumer focus while also winning over the hearts and minds of developers," he says. "We also make our brands look great."

Advertisers including Ford Motor Company, Proctor & Gamble, Marriott, Microsoft and Paramount Pictures are using the service, with CPMs said to be in the region of $20 compared to the $1 range for standard banner ads.

Video with extra

Working on an interstitial basis, each clip is 15 seconds long and enables the user to click through to other websites, fulfill location-based services, link out to Facebook or Twitter, or make a voice call.

Games companies already using the service include Com2uS, Hands-On Mobile, iWin, Booyah, and MobilityWare.
