Demonstrating just how strange the world of digital distribution can be, UK developer Griffilms has announced that its Welsh language iPhone retro space shooter Cerrig Peryg, hit the #5 in the Greek App Store when it was released back in December.
Obviously, you don't need many sales to rocket up the App Stores of small countries, but the likelihood of Welsh speakers in that particular country - even gangs of Joneses and Evanses holidaying in the sun - seems unlikely.
Anyhow, it seems that Griffilms is generally popular in the Aegean.
Apparently, following an update, its Space Wolves physics game has hit the #10 paid apps chart in Greece, in the process overcoming Cut the Rope to become the #2 puzzle game. It has the same position in the Arcade section, just behind Angry Birds.
