It was never likely that the newest member of the Angry Birds family was going to disappoint when it came to download numbers, though notching up 10 million in ten days certainly makes for an impressive headline.
In true Rovio fashion, the developer made the announcement via Twitter, simply stating that Angry Birds Rio which is available on both Amazon and iOS had hit "10 in 10!".
Perfect 10
A bit of investigation by Mobile Entertainment has proved that, as expected, said tweet referred to the number of downloads in the same number of days.
"Angry Birds Rio breaking all records. A massive thanks to all our fans," the developer added.
The split between paid and free versions, however, is unclear.
Paying to play?
Both releases are available on the App Store, while Android's paid version is limited to the Amazon Appstore.
The free release was also exclusively available on the retailer's marketplace, finally launching on Android Market on March 30th.
Sales of the series as a whole recently surpassed the 100 million mark, with total revenues having topped 50 million at the beginning of March.
