A quick scan of PocketGamer.biz's coverage of Fruit Ninja reads like a veritable roll of achievements.
Halfbrick's slasher saw downloads hit 1 million on iPhone in the game's first 74 days, announced revenues of $2 million three months later, and topped charts on Android just hours after its debut.
Now with total downloads sitting at an impressive 25 million, Halfbrick has revealed that Fruit Ninja has also been nominated for a Webby Award.
Slicing up the competition
"As one of the very few game developers nominated for a 2011 Webby Award, Halfbrick couldn't be prouder to stand behind Fruit Ninja and everything we've achieved over the past 12 months," marketing director Phil Larsen said of the news.
"With over 25 million downloads worldwide, it's one of the juiciest games in the world and a pioneer in the slice-em-up genre."
Fruit Ninja has been nominated in the games on handheld devices category in Webby's mobile section.
Up against Rovio's Angry Birds and Zynga's FarmVille, two winners will be selected in all; one chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the other by votes made on the site by members of the public.
Voting in the 15th annual Webby Awards will close on April 28, with winners set to be announced on June 13.
