Blue Ox's 7 Little Words had already managed to notch up a more-than-respectable 1.4 million downloads within its first month on the App Store back in June.
Now, having branched out to launch on Android, Blue Ox's Christopher York has told us downloads for the word puzzler have now passed the 3 million mark.
Indeed, 7 Little Words currently sitting pretty at the top of the Android brain & puzzle charts, above renowned hits Cut the Rope and Bejeweled 2.
Worthy investment
York reports 30 percent of the game's userbase is now drawn from Google's platform, with the Android version also accounting for 40 percent of its revenue.
It's a split even York wasn't expecting.
"[They] were a really big surprise to me," he told us in an email.
"I thought we were throwing our money away to develop for Android. However it appears that if you release a high quality product with the right business model, then Android users are willing to reward you."
