Liverpool, UK-based mobile publisher Thumbstar Games has announced a boost to its business.
As well as securing an undefined but "significant investment", it has revealed Martin Edmondson, the co-founder of Newcastle, UK-based Driver studio Reflections will join the company's board as chief creative officer.
With Edmondson now highlighted as one of the company's original investors in 2008, he will be joined on the board by brother Gareth Edmondson as CEO. For the past seven years, he's been Reflection's MD, during which time it's been owned by Infogrames and now Ubisoft.
As part of the investment, Thumbstar will also open up a Newcastle development facility; something the Edmondsons' prior experience in the area is sure to reinforce.

"I am very proud to have been involved with Thumbstar since its formation, and I'm now particularly looking forward to getting back to my primary passion for original IP creation in such a dynamic and rapidly growing space," commented Martin Edmondson.
Martin Kitney, Thumbstar's COO added, "We are delighted to welcome Martin and Gareth to the board. Their collective experience of making video games adds a powerful new dimension to Thumbstar."
Acting as a mobile publisher and aggregator, Thumbstar represents more than 100 developers, providing 2,000+ iOS, Android and Java games and apps through channels into 128 markets. It's part of the Energetic Holdings group, which also includes games outsource firm Catalyst.
