Every development tool needs an advocate or two, making Appoint Solutions' claim it was able to make a cross-platform multiplayer game in four days with CocoonJS a slice of PR gold for creator Ludei.
CocoonJS's accelerator is designed to convert HTML5 games into iOS and Android apps without altering any code, boosting performance by up to 1,000 percent in the process according to the firm's figures.
Appoint Solutions, which has already delivered one CocoonJS game titled MonsterMove, said at DevUp in Barcelona that multiplayer release Grabbit will now be deployed across iOS, Android and Facebook.
Grab and go
"Once again Appoint Solutions has shattered the conventional thought that HTML5 is not yet ready for fast moving realtime online multiplayer games," said Appoint co-founder and CTO Rob Boerman.
"In just a few short days we created another mobile multiplayer game completely with Javascript and HTML5 and running on Ludeis CocoonJS platform."
Boerman claims that, along with utilising CocoonJS, Appoint was able to speed up development through the use of re-usable building blocks designed for creating new apps both on the client and server end.
In all, just three employees - a graphical designer, server developer and Boerman as client developer worked on the release.
"The Grabbit project also served as a test that those building blocks, combined with a working CocoonJS setup, would really speed up development," he concluded.
