Samsung has announced shipments of the firm's Galaxy Note to suppliers have hit 2 million in its home territory, five months after the handset first hit the shelves.
Detailed in a press release written in the company's native tongue, the company described the tally as a "record", with the phone accounting for 64 percent of all LTE devices sold to suppliers in the region.
A performance to note
As such, Samsung is naturally claiming the Galaxy Note is leading the charge for LTE devices across South Korea, stating the 4G technology is spreading out from markets such as the US at pace.
Outside of the manufacturer's home market, Samsung has claimed that the Galaxy Note is performing strongly in China, Spain and France, which are the three biggest sales contributors.
Worldwide sales hit 5 million as of early April up from 1 million units in its first two months though no word has been given as to where the handset's current global tally sits at.
The news comes just as IDC has proclaimed Samsung as the world's top mobile manufacturer in Q1 2012, replacing Nokia at the summit.
