US game rental outfit GameFly has unveiled plans to begin publishing games on both iOS and Android.
The titles in question will be sourced from a game development fund, set aside to help studios both publish and promote games currently in development.
GameFly expects to publish its first game in summer 2012.
Single destination
The company also announced its intention to launch the GameFly GameStore for Android in the autumn.
The store will carry a curated range of Android games, and will offer users daily deals.
Discussing the announcement, GameFly's co-founder and SVP of business development and content Sean Spector explained the company "is dedicated to giving consumers the best user experience possible, and to be their single destination for console, PC and mobile gaming needs."
He added, "We plan to be a leading player in mobile games by launching our retail GameStore for Android and helping to fund mobile developers of all sizes to publish, promote and sell their smartphone and tablet games."
Studios that are interested in working with GameFly are invited to send submissions to gamedev [at] gamefly [dot] com.
