Directly pitching it as a vote of confidence in the platform, ad network Millennial Media has updated its SDK for the OS to take advantage of what it claims is a growing opportunity.
The updated kit will add in ability to integrate forms of rich media into their ads, such as interactive video that can generate "generous eCPMs (effective cost per thousand impressions) for Windows Phone developers."
Onto a winner
"The number of apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace has grown by 60 percent, to nearly 80,000 from January to March of this year according to the Windows Phone Blog," said said SVP of global monetisation solutions Matt Gillis.
"Yes, it appears Windows Phone is here to stay.
"In the coming months, we expect handset manufacturers around the globe to make a big splash in the marketplace.
"Wireless carriers will likely respond with serious marketing campaigns to raise awareness and entice consumers with the unique features and benefits of Windows Phone."
The updated SDK, it's claimed, will prepare advertisers and developers alike for the expected rise in Windows Phone's userbase, allowing apps to deliver better results.
More details on the features included can be found on Millennial's blog.
