Following the unveiling of support for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8, Unity's second big announcement at its Unite conference in Amsterdam centred around the firm's Union venture.
The company has partnered with Intel to bring games from the Union catalogue designed to promote Unity-authored games to Android smartphones and tablets powered by Intel's Atom processors.
Air attack
The company claims a number of Android titles beginning with Air Attack, Samurai and Frisbee Forever will hit Google Play for Atom-powered devices through Union as a result, with further releases possible in the future.
"We want developers to have as many opportunities for distribution as possible," said David Helgason, CEO, Unity Technologies.
"We are very excited to bring even more Unity-authored content to innovative new Intel Atom processor-based Android devices."
Union's catalogue currently stretches to more than 120 games in all, with titles having amassed 120 million downloads across multiple platforms to date.
Magic number
"Android devices based on the Intel Atom processor help offer consumers the best mobile experience with compelling performance and energy efficiency," added Intel's director of software alliances Kumar Balasubramanian.
"Intel understands games play a healthy role in the users overall computing experience. Adding a compelling line-up of Union games helps us provide the games and apps Android owners know and love on their devices."
Intel is just the latest in a long line of companies to partner with Unity to support Union, following on from the likes of RIM, Sony, Nokia and Lenovo, amongst others.
