Nordic Game Jam announces Copenhagen venue for 2013 event
Game hacks and jams are very much the vogue thing.

In the UK, we have the Best of British (among others), while over in the cooler climes of Europe, they have the Nordic Game Jam. It's been running since 2006.

Primed for a return in 2013, it will be held at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, Denmark, across the 48 hours of 18-20 January.

There will also be a pre-party on 17 January, if you want to start the process with a hangover.

Down with the vikings

As for the point of the jam, it's an opportunity for anyone who's interested in making games to jump right in.

Whether you're a newbie or professional, it's a case of collaborating, experimenting and not sleeping much in the pursuit of gaming excellence.

Tickets are being released in sections, with the first 50 early bird tickets available now for 450 DKK ($80), with the remainder going at 550 DKK ($95). These both provide you with food during the jam and access to the pre and post-jam parties.

You can find out more details about the Nordic Game Jam 2013 via its website and Facebook pages.
