The organisers of Game Dev North the networking event series for game developers in the north of England have added another free networking bash to their calendar.
Game Dev North Leeds will take place on 16 March 2013, offering developers the opportunity to meet, mingle and exchange business cards over a few drinks, hosted by music production company Project Static.
"When Project Static started specialising in audio for video games we unfortunately believed, like I think a lot of people do, that the vast majority of publishers and developers were based in London," explained Project Static's Ben Milnes.
"After the success of Sam [Mottershaw]'s Game Dev North events, we are delighted to see so many northern companies coming together and producing such high quality work."
Leed on
Game Dev North events are already a regular occurrence in Liverpool and Chester, so by adding Leeds to the roster, organisers are hoping to make Game Dev North's brand of networking accessible to a greater number of northern studios.
"We are also very keen to have video gamers and students who are studying degrees related to the industry such as programming, graphic design, music, journalism and art attend as well as developers," explained Craig Harbour of Game Dev North and Project Static.
"There is no better way to get involved with the industry than to talk to other like-minded people who are in, or want to get into the video games industry."
