We like to think we're pretty good at connecting people, especially game developers.
That's one of main reasons why Pocket Gamer throws parties at all the events and conferences where we can hire a bar and invite old and new friends to get together.
This week, the circus was in Barcelona at the famous Luz de Gas bar (once a theatre), where thanks to our sponsors - PlayPhone, BlackBerry, Ludei and Immersion - we brought together the cream of the mobile games industry.
Granted, Barcelona lost the big game to arch rivals Real Madrid, but with a magician, mime, stilt walker and dancers hand, we hardly noticed. And that was before a certain MD started riding members of the audience - apparently he was jealous of the stilt dancer's altitude.
And so a good time was had by all and many new connections were made ensuring the new business opportunities flowed as freely as the generous portions of Spanish spirits.
Don't worry if you missed out though, as we'll be doing it all again in San Francisco for GDC in ust a few weeks. Monday night belongs to us...
Ron from Playphone, Pocket Gamer's Chris James, Geosophic won a BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry's Volker Hirsch, and Ludei's Eneko Knorr.
A man wearing make-up and rather tall thanks to his stilts.
The mime doesn't like HTML5 (we're making it up).
Enterpreneur Chris, PlayPhone, and industry veteran Tony Pearce (PlayerX, TeePee. GamesGrabr).
There is no truth in the rumour Volker Hirsch has paid a man to follow him around, singing the praises of BB10
Geosophic in an Apps To Win sandwich. (Doesn't Liam Patton look good in a beard?).
The men we look up to. Fishlabs' Michael Schade and Rovio's Arman Bohn.
Vserve in the party.
