Sulake and IKON Graphics veterans combine to form Small Giant Games
Does Helsinki - the world's mobile start-up capital - needs another start-up?

Well, it's got one, and testament to the depth of experience in the region, Small Giant Games has been formed by four veterans.

Two are from Habbo Hotel developer Sulake: CEO Otto Nieminen was its senior product director, while CTO Markus Halttunen was Sulake's CTO.

The other half of the team - Ilkka Juopperi and Tommi Vallisto - come from design outfit IKON Graphics.

Upwards trajectory

Having been in stealth mode for a couple of months, Small Giant Games is working on its first iOS title, although few details have yet been released.

"We'll offer fresh angles to the physics-based game genre, topped with fabulous fantasy graphics, rich character design and animations," revealed Nieminen.

"We are actively looking for talented developers to join our team, but we do want stay small and lean as a company," added Halttunen.

Small Giant's formation has been aided by support from public funding agencies and institutions such as Enterprise Helsinki's business incubator Ely-Center and TEKES.
