Thanks to titles such as Dragon Collection and Sengoku Collection, Konami remains one of the most successful mobile developers in Japan.
In the west, however, its reputation is more patchy.
That's something it's hoping to remedy thanks to a strategic development deal with Kung Fu Factory.
The Los Angeles-based studio has worked on console and mobile games, notably Halo 4: King of the Hill, and most recently the Nickelodeon-published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Runner.
Happy people
"As we continue to build upon Konami's social and mobile offerings, we look to partner with more independent developers like Kung Fu Factory to expand the variety of content," said director of digital publishing, John Coligan.
"Kung Fu Factory does a great job of creating engaging and unique gaming experiences for audiences of all kinds, and we intend to support them through the entire development and release process."
"Partnering with an industry leader like Konami allows us to focus on what we do best, create the games," echoed Kung Fu Factory's CEO and creative director Ricci Rukavina.
Kung Fu Factory's 2013 mobile lineup for Konami will be announced shortly.
