It seems like just yesterday when the augmented reality software developer Metaio announced 10,000 downloads of its SDK.
Now, it has a new milestone to celebrate.
The Munich-based augmented reality innovator announced that it has 50,000 developers working on its platform with over 1,000 applications spread across enterprise, industrial, publishing, and retail.
But Metaio isn't planning to rest on its laurels.
Speaking on the milestone, CEO Thomas Alt made it clear that he has an eye fixed firmly on the future.
"It's important that we continue to innovate and offer the most advanced AR software - not just for the devices of today but the wearable computing and mobile devices of tomorrow," he said.
Contest conscious
In addition to the 50,000 developer milestone, Metaio announced the launch of the first-ever Metaio International Developer Contests.
These will feature categories for content creation and app/game development.
Grand Prize winners will receive professional software licenses and will also be flown to Munich to present their entries at the InsideAR 2013 event.
Those interested in learning more about the contests can check out the full details over at Metaio's site.
