Days after an update officially doubled the number of mobile platforms the development engine supports, Unity has unveiled a new competition aimed squarely at increasing dev support for two of those ecosystems.
The firm has partnered up with Microsoft to invite Unity developers to submit "beautifully crafted, high-quality new or existing games or content" for either Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8.
Winning on Windows
The contest, set to be judged by both companies, is open to registered Unity Pro developers, as well as those developing with the free version.
Developers can submit "games, education and training apps, advertising and visualisation content," whilst "interactive art" is also eligible.
Winners of the contest will receive a $30,000 cash prize, whilst second and third placed contestants will receive $10,000, and $5,000 prizes respectively.
"We want to see and play content that hooks us in fast, keeps us glued to our screens and coming back for more," details Unity on the competition's webpage.
"It can be content that's fun and casual, informative, or instructional, high-velocity or high art. Create it with gorgeous graphics and flawless performance; addictive gameplay and intuitive controls count as much as fireworks and polish."
More details on the contest and its guidelines can be found on the contest's webpage.

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
