In what sounds like a flashback to early June, Zynga has announced it's shuttering OMGPOP.com.
A posting on the social game platform site announced that it will close on September 30, but four Facebook games - Cupcake Corner, Gem Rush, Pool World Champ, and Snoops - will end a month earlier, on August 29.
Zynga notes that the closures will not affect Draw Something, Draw Something 2, or Draw My Thing, and that all three games will continue after OMGPOP.com closes.
Escaping the friend zone
Zynga's official posting on the subject said it was ending the four OMGPOP games "to make way for new and exciting gaming opportunities".
But the news follows a mass player exodus that saw Zynga's quarterly revenue plummet by 31 percent.
The social gaming giant has endured massive internal restructuring as well in recent months, laying off 18 percent of its staff in June with several high-profile executives leaving thereafter.
