Loyalty programs are nothing new to the world of retail, but their implementation in mobile games is still being tested.
Greek startup Juengo is looking to disrupt the traditional loyalty program model by rewarding users for their actions instead of their purchases.
The ways to earn Juengo-specific loyalty points (called, fittingly, Juengos), are flexible - a user can click a like button, scan a QR code, attend an event, or engage in another type of interaction.
The campaign trail
Once a user accumulates enough Juengos, they can redeem them for real-world rewards like giftcards.
Think of Juengos as frequent flier miles that users can accumulate without flying and you won't be far off with your understanding of how they work.
At things stand, Juengo is in the early stages of its model, meaning the rewards it offers are limited. However, if its marketplace is any indication of what's to come, it has plans to offer everything from accessories, optics, jewelry, and health/beauty rewards.
Although Juengo doesn't specify that it will support game integration, the implications for social media integration are quite interesting.
More intriguingly, Juengo is open to the idea of developers creating and monitoring their own loyalty campaigns. By providing an API and assorted other tools to interested businesses, companies can implement both online and offline campaigns.
Those interested in learning more about Juengo can visit its website for additional information.
We've reached out to Juengo to see if they have any plans to integrate directly with games, and we'll update this story when we hear back.
