Darts, like snooker, archery and chess is a game that could scarcely be described as a sport but which is still thought of as such by a not insignificant group of spend-happy punters. Sensing an opportunity, mobile game publisher Player One has secured an exclusive worldwide deal with the pastime's most powerful governing body, the Professional Darts Corporation.
The deal essentially signals the arrival of what will probably be an annually updated mobile darts game based on the PDC World Championship, complete with a full roster of real-world pros. The game is set to release alongside the two-week event in December at the Alexandra Palace, which some people are already calling the greatest darts show on earth. Quite.
But who are we to get all semantically pedantic about the nature of the game? PDC World championship has every chance of blazing the trail already set by the popular Phil Taylor's Power Darts '08. Click 'Track It!' to catch our forthcoming review when we get hold of the finished game.
