Games industry charity GamesAid has raised a record-breaking £954,000 for UK charities over the past 12 months.
The figure represents an increase of 69 per cent over the previous year when it raised £564,000.
The money will be split across ten charities: Access Sport, Accuro, Action For Kids, Aidis Trust, Blackpool Carers Centre, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Lifelites, MAPS, Solving Kids’ Cancer, and Special Effect.
Each charity will receive £95,400 each.
Strongest year yet
To date, total donations from GamesAid have reached more than £2.7 million.
“2016 has been the strongest year yet for GamesAid,” said GamesAid Chair Ian Chambers.
“I’m very proud that the industry not only continues to support the work of GamesAid, but has managed to raise more money for UK charities than ever before. This takes our overall running total to over £2.7million.”
