Amazon Appstore gets in on eSports with first ever tournament for casual mobile games

Amazon Appstore is launching its first-ever eSports tournament for casual mobile games in Las Vegas next month.

The Champions of Fire Invitational, which takes place on December 2nd, will see 16 gaming influencers and celebrities including Boxbox, Professor Broman and Northernlion compete across different mobile titles.

The games include Disney Crossy Road, Fruit Ninja Tournament Edition, Bloons TD Battles, 8 Ball Pool and Pac-Man.

Streaming streamers

The winners will take home a share of the $100,000 prize pool, with the grand prize coming in at $30,000.

It’s not clear whether the winnings will go to charity or directly to the contestants, exactly how participants qualified for the tournament and whether they have been paid to take part.

As well as being streamed online live on December 2nd, the tournament will be shown on the CBS Sports Network on December 12th via a two-hour special featuring highlights from the event.
