Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool usurps Pokemon GO as UK’s top grossing mobile game

Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool usurped games such as Candy Crush Saga and Pokemon GO to reach the summit of the UK App Store’s top grossing charts on January 10th.

The last time the game achieved this feat was on March 8th 2015. Since then, the title has typically still been a top 10 and top 15 grosser for the company.

The top grossing UK App Store game on January 9th was Pokemon GO.

Cue for success

8 Ball Pool has recently found renewed success in the US too. A top 50 grosser in the last year, it has slowly edged its way up the charts through November and December 2016 to reach ninth position on January 10th.

Its highest ever position in the country is eighth, which it achieved on December 31st 2016.

Its grossing positions in the UK and US have coincided with a rise in the number of downloads for the game.

Miniclip’s Chief Commercial Officer Saad Choudri will be a speaker at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2017 on January 16th, as part of the Global Markets Power Panel.
