Miniclip partners with majority stake owner Tencent to publish War Wings in the West

Miniclip has partnered with Tencent and Mobilefish to bring the Chinese behemoth's flight combat game War Wings to the West.

The game has been re-developed and entirely Westernised to appeal to the new audience. It is first being launched in the UK before pushing out to the US in the coming months.

War Wings has already seen millions of downloads in Asia and received 25,000 reviews on Google Play, earning it a 4.4 rating on the store.

A milestone in history

"We are very excited to bring a massively successful game developed by Tencent and Mobilefish to the world," said Rob Small, CEO of Miniclip.

"The release of War Wings brings another milestone to Miniclip's history, and marks new chapter to our future collaboration with Tencent."

Tencent acquired a majority stake in Miniclip back in February 2015, but War Wings is the first game to be published as a direct result of the investment.

Miniclip is perhaps better known for its games Agar.io, which surpassed 113 million downloads on mobile in December 2016, and 8 Ball Pool, which topped the UK App Store grossing charts in January 2017.
