Jam City opens Google Play pre-registrations for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Panda Pop developer Jam City has opened pre-registrations on Google Play for its latest game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

The enormous IP has been licensed by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and is set to be published by Wizarding World games label Portkey Games.

Hogwarts Mystery is described as a narrative adventure with RPG elements, in which users play the role of a student and work their way through the years at the famous wizarding school.

The title is set to be released on both Google Play and the App Store in spring 2018.

"We are grateful to the fans who have made Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery one of the most anticipated mobile games of 2018," said Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe.

"We're thrilled to open Google pre-registration and share a new sneak peek at how this game will let fans create their own character and enter Hogwarts as a student for the first time."

Nabbing the Harry Potter licence is a huge deal for a company eyeing up an IPO in the near future following the success of its other titles such as Panda Pop and Cookie Jam.
