Kwa Qua's experimental collaborative drawing game Mish Mash has won the first ever Big Indie Pitch at Big Indie Fest @ ReVersed.
The Big Indie Pitch is a regular event run by the makers of PocketGamer.biz. It gives indie developers the chance to pitch their games to industry experts and journalists in a speed-dating-styled format.
Teams get the opportunity to get valuable feedback on their games, as well as win great prizes such as promotional packages and, more importantly, the coveted Big Indie Pitch bat.
We’re now nearly halfway through the year, and there are already some incredible names that will be looking to make even more of a mark come our annual Big Indie Awards, which this year will take place at the G-Star conference in Busan, South Korea.
Mish Mash
The winner of the first Big Indie Pitch at The Big Indie Fest @ ReVersed was Kwa Qua’s collaborative drawing game Mish Mash.
The core concept has players drawing whatever they like, based on just a few markings left over at the side of the canvas from another player’s drawing. You’ll have no idea what they’ve drawn until you finish your masterpiece.
The result is often a bizarre “mish-mash” of drawings to create one giant piece of ‘art’.

Hamsterdam
In second place was Muse Games’ cutesy brawler Hamsterdam, billed for mobile devices, Vita and Nintendo Switch. Players must fight enemy gangs through fast-paced combat through tapping and swiping to form powerful combos and free the town from crime boss Marlo ‘The Chinchilla’
Golf Club: Wasteland
In third place was Demagogs Studio’s Golf Club: Wasteland, which much like its title suggests, sees your golfing on a post-apocalyptic earth.
Despite its setting, the title offers relaxing gameplay and a great soundtrack of original songs. And you come equipped with a jetpack. Very cool.
