VeriSign sells Jamba stake to News Corp

Now wholly owned by Murdoch

VeriSign sells Jamba stake to News Corp
Mobile content site Jamba has... well, not quite a new owner, but a new sole owner.

Having previously been a joint venture between VeriSign and News Corporation, the two companies have just announced that News Corp has bought VeriSign's 49 per cent stake in Jamba for "approximately $200 million".

VeriSign has been looking for a way out of Jamba for some time, in order to focus on its internet infrastructure businesses.

"News Corp. has been a good business partner and we wish them well as they continue to operate an exciting mobile entertainment business," says VeriSign boss Jim Bidzos.

The deal is unlikely to change Jamba's mobile games business, though.
