Demonstrating the power of free when combined with the power of brands, Rovio's decision to release the full version of Angry Birds for Android devices via GetJar took out the free app store's servers within minutes of the announcement.
Now, three hours on, GetJar is back, if intermittently live and down.
It suggests users go direct on device to its mobile site http://m.getjar.com to download Angry Birds.
However, despite this to-date Angry Birds has been downloaded almost 95,000 times.
Straight to the top
In contrast, the previous most popular GetJar game - Racing Car Game 3D - did 15,780 downloads yesterday.
The most popular app - Facebook - did 188,677: a figure Angry Birds looks likely to better as long as GetJar's servers can take the punishment.
It's certainly good news for Rovio, which is currently monetising the release via AdMob ads, and in-app purchases, which will be added in a future update.
It's also good news for GetJar as it looks to extend its business model and audience, by focusing on premium content, which is given away for a limited time.
