The announcement of another daily free game discovery app site might not be of interest, given the dozen or so that are already live.
There are reasons that Free Game of the Day will be making waves however.
For one thing, it's backed by OpenFeint, the social gaming network, which has over 15 millions users (around 30 million eyeball then).
In one sense, the website is just an extension of the free game initiative that's been live on its iPhone app since January and is used to promote games that use the OpenFeint platform.
In another however, it marks a split between OpenFeint and the FreeAppADay site.
It launched in conjunction with OpenFeint and combined its daily promotion with that on the OpenFeint app. Now however it seems OpenFeint has decide to go solo and run its project.
