EA CEO Andrew Wilson joins Intel's Board of Directors

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson has joined Intel's Board of Directors as its 12th board member.

Wilson was appointed as a board member on September 13th 2017. The appointment wasn't announced until September 18th.

He has served as CEO of EA for the past four years, and has held numerous senior positions in the company over the last 17 years. He is also the chairman of the board for the World Surf League.

First-hand understanding

"Andrew understands first-hand how technology and data create opportunity with his transformation of EA from offline packaged goods to a leader in online digital services," said Intel Chairman Andy Bryant.

"In addition to his experience leading and growing a global, technology-driven company, Andrew possesses a combination of creativity and business acumen that will further strengthen Intel's board."

EA's next move on mobile will likely centre on its soft-launched title The Sims Mobile. The game promises to deliver a Sims experience closer to its PC counterpart than its previous free-to-play effort The Sims FreePlay.
