Handango signs smartphone deals with Digital Chocolate and I-play

More mobile games for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile
Mobile content retailer Handango has added two more mobile games publishers to its roster: Digital Chocolate and I-play.

The global deals involve games for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, and bolster Handango's offering at a time when Games have apparently become its second most popular category, behind only Entertainment.

DChoc games being distributed through Handango include 3D Brick Breaker Revolution, Mini Golf 99 Holes and Shopping Madness, while I-play titles include Deal or No Deal (in the US), Jewel Quest 2, Mercenaries 2 and Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Handango is already distibuting smartphone games from EA Mobile and Capcom, and in October began selling Android games from various publishers.

While there's well-documented excitement around iPhone and Android, Handango's latest deals show that BlackBerry and WinMo could be higher profile mobile gaming platforms in 2009 too.
