News Corporation's subsidiary Fox Mobile is delaying its planned launch of a new D2C mobile content brand in the US, says CEO Mauro Montanaro.
"We are revisiting the launch dates because after September-October, the economic crisis hit very hard," he tells MocoNews.
"We have a name, and we have a whole plan, and now we are looking at when
It will be in the first half of the year."
Of course, Fox Mobile already owns one D2C mobile brand: Jamba/Jamster. News Corp bought VeriSign's 49 per cent stake in it last October to take full control, before restructuring the mobile division as Fox Mobile.
How Jamba fits with the new US brand remains to be seen. Montanaro says the new brand is likely to roll out to other English-speaking markets too, when it does go live.
