THQ (THQI) has revealed its THQ Wireless division generated $4.2 million of revenues during its fiscal first quarter ending June 30, 2009.
This was down from $5.1 million for the same period in 2008; a drop of 18 percent.
The figures are the same under the GAAP and non-GAAP accounting rules.
At the start of 2009, THQ Wireless was restructured, with much of its US operation let go as the company's focus shifted to making games for smartphones such as iPhone.
During its Q1 period, THQ Wireless has released titles such as the official tie-in for Disney movie Up, and original games such as Prison Tycoon and Treasure Grab for iPhone.
Console brands such as Red Faction: Guerilla and WWE: Legends of WrestleMania have come to mobile.
Still, we reckon it must be very annoyed it couldn't keep its hands on the Worms brand, which THQ Wireless published on mobile.
Creator Team 17 self-published the iPhone version of Worms, which remains the highest priced game in the US Top 100 at $4.99.
Outside of mobile, THQ's overall net Q1 sales were up 77 percent to $243.5 million from $137.6 million in 2008.
This was due to the performance of US and UK number one game UFC 2009 Undisputed, as well as Red Faction: Guerrilla, which has shipped one million units on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
In terms of the split between platforms, Xbox 360 consisted of 40 percent, of overall sales PlayStation 3 31 percent, DS 8.2 percent, PC 7.6 percent, Wii 5.5 percent, PlayStation 2 2.8 percent and PSP 2.1 percent.
Wireless accounted for a mere 1.7 percent, compared to 3.7 percent in Q1 2008.
Earlier this week, Gameloft (GFT.PA) revealed its sales for the first six months of 2009 were up 20 percent to 60.1 million- growth driven by iPhone game sales in North America.
EA (ERTS), including EA Mobile, will be announcing its latest financials on 4th August.
