Invites went out from Nokia late last week for a press conference to be held in London at which executive vice president Anssi Vanjoki will announce something "big".
The mobile giant hasn't elaborated on exactly what this big news will be on Thursday, but the general feeling is that we can expect some kind of major revamp to its Ovi Store.
Nokia has previously alluded to some major software development being in the works, and due to be unveiled this Spring, which promises to be an update to something significant in the company's catalogue.
Considering the N900 and Maemo 5 operating software recently gained access to the Ovi Store - though without the ability to buy paid apps and games - this seems like the ideal time to revamp the troubled on-device application store.
It's also expected to catch up with rival app stores by delivering the option for in-app purchases, new APIs and push notifications. Watch this space for more news on Thursday.
